Our extensive experience and state-of-the-art equipment allow us to deliver precise, durable, and aesthetically pleasing plast...
Based in Essex and Hertfordshire, just north of London,
IPFL have provided clients with precision plastics parts
for over 50 years.
micro3D by IPFL was created to support researchers, engineers and manufacturers in their demands for highly detailed micro manufacturing.
The evolution of IPFL through three generations
Bill Bloomfield Senior started IPFL from a humble workshop in 1969 producing quality, precision components for automotive, med-tech and aerospace. In the 1980s, Bill Bloomfield junior joined and developed the CNC machining and fabrication services, and in 2003, he added the expanded capacity with an advanced Polyjet 3D printing bureau. Third-generation, Adam Bloomfield, joined this additive prototyping and manufacturing department in 2012, and micro3D was born to fulfil the needs of high precision finely detailed products
From concept to creation, IPFL's 3D printing capabilities offer solutions for a wide range of design challenges. The versatility which each department has, let alone the company as a whole, means that we can adapt and evolve to our customer requirements. no need to shoe-horn an application into a specific technology.
Our Micro3D printing solutions cater to various industries, including healthcare, electronics, automotive, and aerospace, providing precision components for a wide range of applications. We are committed to meeting the unique challenges of each industry while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in micro fabrication. We use a range of metrology equipment to ensure accuracy of our 3D printed components including optical and CMM measurements.
We specialise in bespoke component manufacturing and include various automation steps to ensure production efficiency for the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Our solutions are crafted with over 50 years of industry experience, guaranteeing high-quality and efficient processes ready to propel your production.
micro 3D printing is an advanced form of additive manufacturing that produces extremely small and highly detailed components with resolutions in the micrometer (µm) range. Unlike conventional 3D printing, which typically operates at resolutions of 50–200 µm, micro 3D printing can achieve resolutions as fine as 2 µm. This enables the fabrication of intricate microstructures used in medical devices, microfluidics, electronics, and MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems).
The turnaround time for Micro 3D printing projects typically ranges between 5 to 7 days, but this can vary depending on several factors, including part complexity, material selection, post-processing requirements, and order volume.
